ADULT BEGINNER JIUJITSU · EXETER, RHODE ISLAND

Welcome to Elevate. Your first two stripes start here.

Learn the basics, feel more comfortable on the mat, and build real skills with coaches and teammates who help you along the way.

Train free until you earn your first two white belt stripes.

No experience needed. No obligation to join afterward. Gi purchased separately: not needed for your first class, required to earn your stripes.

We’ll help you take the first step.

Ask questions. Practice with your teammates. Learn one skill at a time. Your coaches provide instruction, resources, and practical learning tools to help you succeed.

Come as a beginner

Wear clean, comfortable training clothes and bring water. Introduce yourself to a coach. You don’t need a gi for your first visit.

Learn with support

Work on fundamental movements and escapes with your coaches and partners. You’ll know what to practice and what your first two stripes require.

Earn your stripes. Then decide

After you earn your first two stripes, decide whether you’d like to become a member. There’s no obligation to continue.

What you’ll learn. How you’ll earn your stripes.

These are skills we’ll teach you, not things you need to know on day one.

01

First stripe

Demonstrate Bridge, Rising Shrimp, Back Heist, Front Headlock Escape, and Inversion Escape safely and correctly, plus read the Elevate onboarding material.

02

Second stripe

Demonstrate escape mount and escape side mount against an upper belt. Coaches teach the positions and escapes.

03

Learn at your own pace

Typically 2–4 weeks; everyone learns at a different pace. This is an estimate, not a deadline or guaranteed promotion date. Training stays free until both stripes are earned.

04

Request your test

Request a test at the beginning of class. Tests are usually given together and may be retaken until passed.

05

Your gi

Gi required for earning stripes. Your gi is a separate purchase. Ask a coach about fit before ordering.

Clear terms

Training is free through two earned stripes. Your gi is a separate purchase. Ask a coach about fit before ordering. Continuing is your choice. Reviews and social posts are optional and are not conditions of free training or promotion.

If you want to keep training.
