URI JUDO/JIUJITSU
CLUB TEAM
The URI Judo and Jiujitsu Club Team trains at Elevate Dojo on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday evenings. University of Rhode Island undergraduate and graduate students get 50% off on their membership. Ride shares are available.
Our goal for 2026 is to grow the URI Judo and Jiujitsu Club to 200 members! Please reach out to the URI Judo and Jiujitsu Club and/or call Sensei Brett at 401.632.9442.
We are looking for more female students!
We are looking to expand our women’s Judo and Jiujitsu team. If you are interested in learning with fellow URI undergraduate and graduate women students, please reach out!
While we have had national, international, and Olympic-level women athletes at Elevate, we are really seeking out URI women who are new to Judo and Jiujitsu. If you have prior experience, we would also love to have you train with us here!
-
You do not need prior experience. At Elevate, we excel at getting absolute beginners up to speed safely and quickly. While having prior experience in wrestling, judo, and jiujitsu is great it is not necessary to join and become proficient.
-
Cars are great! We are still working on finding transportation from URI, but until then, we rely on carpooling with other URI Club members. If you have a car and would like to help with transportation, that would be wonderful. If you do not have a car, we will help you find options for transportation.

We are working on this! While we have had internships available and independent studies at Elevate we are looking to see how else we can provide club members learning credits at URI.
