B.O.N.D. Brotherhood
Brothers On a New Direction (B.O.N.D.)
Established in 2007, Brothers On a New Direction (B.O.N.D.) is a brotherhood that recognizes the need for unity amongst diverse young men on campus. Through service and mentorship, the men of B.O.N.D. pledge to guide young men towards personal and professional growth.
Elevate Dojo offers Judo and Jiujitsu to B.O.N.D. members as more than a sport. We offer tools that help develop:
Discipline and self-control
Confidence under pressure
Accountability to ourselves and our teammates
Leadership through consistent action
The URI Judo & Jiujitsu club trains at Elevate Dojo in Exeter, where the environment is rooted in respect, mentorship, and personal growth. You don’t need any prior experience—just the willingness to show up, learn, and push yourself alongside others who are doing the same.
We’re currently welcoming new members for the Spring Semester, and we’d love for members of B.O.N.D. to come train with us, visit a class, or simply learn more about the community. Training together builds real brotherhood—earned through effort, consistency, and support.
We are looking for more female students!
We are looking to expand our women’s Judo and Jiujitsu team. If you are interested in learning with fellow URI undergraduate and graduate women students, please reach out!
While we have had national, international, and Olympic-level women athletes at Elevate, we are really seeking out URI women who are new to Judo and Jiujitsu. If you have prior experience, we would also love to have you train with us here!
-
You do not need prior experience. At Elevate, we excel at getting absolute beginners up to speed safely and quickly. While having prior experience in wrestling, judo, and jiujitsu is great it is not necessary to join and become proficient.
-
Cars are great! We are still working on finding transportation from URI, but until then, we rely on carpooling with other URI Club members. If you have a car and would like to help with transportation, that would be wonderful. If you do not have a car, we will help you find options for transportation.
-
We are working on this! While we have had internships available and independent studies at Elevate we are looking to see how else we can provide club members learning credits at URI.
